There are lots of organisations, support groups and helpful books to help you cope with gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) and its treatment.

Cancer Research UK information and support

Cancer Research UK is the largest cancer research organisation in the world outside the USA. We fund research on all aspects of cancer from its causes to prevention and treatment.

GTD support organisations

There are two hospitals in the UK where women are treated for GTD. These hospitals offer specialist support and information on their websites. 

The Hydatidiform Mole and Choriocarcinoma UK Information and Support Service

This website is run by the specialist centre at Charing Cross Hospital in London. The website has information and useful contacts.

Weston Park Trophoblastic Disease Centre

This website is run by the centre at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield. It gives details about their drop in clinic, patient information and information for doctors and nurses.

The Miscarriage Association

The Miscarriage Association organisation provides information and support about pregnancy loss.

Maggie's Centres

Maggie’s is a national cancer charity. They work with the specialist GTD centres to offer support groups for people during and after treatment for GTD.

Tommy's support for women with molar pregnancy

Tommy's is a research charity in the UK looking into miscarriage and pregnancy problems.

They have a helpline staffed by midwives and the website includes women's stories about molar pregnancy.

College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) provides information about what help and therapy is available for sexual difficulties.

The RCOG provide information for the public about women’s health and wellbeing. This includes leaflets, podcasts as well as pointing to other sources of help.

Teenage Cancer Trust

Teenage Cancer Trust is a national charity providing specialist units, expert staff, support events, education and information for 13 to 24 year olds diagnosed with cancer, and their friends and families.

Teenage Cancer Trust also work closely with healthcare professionals and researchers to lead the way on developing cancer care for teenagers and young adults.

 Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity that gives practical, medical and financial support to people with cancer in the UK. Its helpline gives guidance on cancer and advice on benefits. It also publishes booklets about cancer and treatments. Information is available in other languages.
